Happy New Year!

Dreams - Volume 1 is available FREE in Kindle format until Jan 3rd - Happy New Year!

In Volume 1, “Ian’s Story”, we read heart aching descriptions of a young man discovering his homosexual side, after rejection from his girlfriend. The story tells of his infatuated love for a straight young man. This is one of Richard Peters’ recurring themes about straight men who want gay sex.

Homoeroticism, Bisexuality, Homosexuality and Heterosexuality

Homoeroticism, Bisexuality, Homosexuality and Heterosexuality

Lately in my fiction I have found myself differentiating between "homoeroticism" and "homosexual" writing.

Homoeroticism is a subject that has taxed people since early Greek times, especially those art experts who have studied the depiction of the male form in art and literature.

Curiously, "homosexuality", as a term, only came into being in relatively modern times. Freud and others recognised "homoeroticism" but it was later commentators who classified behaviour as homosexual.

So what is the difference? "Homosexuality", in broad terms is the practice or certainly the inclination to have sex with a member or members of the same sex.

"Homoeroticism" is the pleasure obtained, as the viewer, from the contemplation of the physical form of a body or bodies of the same sex. It is an attraction or appreciation of the form, separate from any actual desire to have sexual contact. It is also linked to close same-sex friendships, which includes an attraction to both the personality and physical form of the person of the same gender.

Most of my comments below relate to male homoerotic feelings, but, of course many females too, have an attraction or admiration for other females.

From these two distinctions, you can see that homoeroticism is more common than homosexuality. The gym guy who appreciates other guys' physical form, the movie or TV viewer who admires a hero's physical prowess or torso (such as James Bond or the latest good-looking pop star), a viewer of porn, who as well as enjoying the opposite sex, also envies or admires the participant of the same sex as themselves. How many guys watching another male, wonder about the size of their equipment, or how his own compares?

All through my writing I have found myself describing the admiration of one man for another man. In my most recently published novel, Carter & the Séance the physical attributes of the hero Garry Newburn are described, even while making love to a woman. This opened up the possibility of the erotic scenes appealing to women (due to the erotic description of Garry) and also to men who are open to homoerotic ideas.

Her fingers were clawing at the buttons of his shirt while he smothered her face with passionate kisses and desperately pushed the thin dressing gown and nightie, up above her breasts.

Her delicate fingers were clawing frantically at his trousers now that his exposed, naked chest was pressed to her breasts and pinning her to the desk-top. Soon she had his trousers open and down over his backside.

He flicked his fingers down and pulled his briefs down over his cock and balls. She wanted him, wanted his smooth, hard flesh. They kissed desperately and he lifted and sank easily into her, filling her with his thickness.

They rocked and she swooned as his desperate lust fired into her. Soon it was over for him, but not for her. She pushed and athletically he rolled over onto his back, while keeping them both on the desk. She lay on top of him and kissed his neck and stroked her lips over the curve of his strong shoulder.

So men who admire men, whether they be traditionally straight or gay, are free to admire our hero, his prowess with women and his masculine attributes.

Also in the novel Carter & the Séance we read of a developing homoerotic relationship with the somewhat sexually ambiguous or bisexual Garry Newburn and the straight chef Freddie. The two men quickly become close pals, and share intimacies in a growing friendship. Here we read of one man's desire to be close to another man, initially in a non-sexual way, where they share details about their sex lives.

Back in his tiny room they shuffled about squeezing past each other while Freddie found some clothes for Garry. "Here try these." He said, handing a pair of blue, fly-less briefs, while his eyes checked out Garry's waist and hip size.

Garry hopped into them and pulled them over his equipment. Freddie whistled and said "Don't let Christina see you in them, she'll rip them off you, pal!" His eyebrows rising in admiration for Garry's profile inside the tight briefs.

"Or Mary, mate!" Garry winked and Freddie laughed enviously.

"You dog!" He sighed. "Is she a good shag?"

"Best ever!" Garry laughed.

Soon their physical relationship becomes more intimate, although their banter is still heterosexual in nature.

He watched him soap and finger his tackle, while thinking about him fucking lovely Rose. His mate slid his foreskin back and washed himself there. Freddie finished the shower and stepped out. Garry handed him the towel and Freddie died himself off. Rubbing his fair brown hair, vigorously, his penis and balls wobbled manfully.

When he was all done and dry, he hung up the towel and slipped his foreskin back to intimately dry, as he had done last time. He wagged his penis, so that the exposed knob dried. Freddie grew and Garry giggled and said, "Thinking about Rose?" he winked.

"Sure am!" Freddie winked back and pulled his foreskin down, his penis now a few inches longer.

"She's a lucky girl!" Garry winked and nodded down at Freddie's half-erection.

Before long the homoerotic friendship slips over into a physical, homosexual one:

Without saying a word, Freddie put his lips to Garry's collar-bone and shivered soft kisses over his smooth chest, softly licking each nipple in turn, before the man knelt and slid his face down Garry's defined ribcage. He pressed his tongue inside Garry's indented belly button, while his fingers eagerly undid the top of Garry's trousers and undid enough fly buttons so that he could get his fingers inside to feel the front of Garry's briefs.

"Oh mate!" Garry sighed at the feel of his encased penis being fingered.

Skilfully, Freddie lifted the erection through the wet briefs so that it rose solidly up Garry's left side until the engorged head pushed the band of the briefs away from Garry's stomach.

"Yes!" Garry whispered, his hands encouraging the back of Freddie's head. His mate's fingers gently stretched the waistband and pulled out and down to release Garry's enormous erection, which flicked up and down before Freddie's eyes.

"Fantastic!" Freddie whispered before licking his tongue over the swollen glans inside the tight, thin foreskin.

"Jeez, mate!" Garry sighed, when Freddie opened his mouth and swallowed a couple of inches of him. Find out more about Carter & the Séance here

So this begs the following questions: are homoerotic friendships simply repressed, unrealised homosexual desires? How inevitable is it that homoerotic feelings develop into homosexual ones? Can straight men develop homoerotic desires for a close pal?

This is a theme I have explored in my other novels.

Here, in the novel Archie, two young Victorian fellows have a race across Hyde Park, having just become friends:

We were strong young men in our prime and although our pace slackened we still raced at a fair lick over the grass, with myself just managing to stay in front of him.

"Enough!" I heard his desperate voice falling behind me. Like a rampant stallion I raced around in an extravagant arc across the grass back towards my friend who was collapsing onto the green sward. By the time I arced back to him he was lying on his back loosening his tie and gentleman's collar.

I stood above him triumphantly breathing hard but not exhausted like my friend. I looked down on his panting body, his chest heaving inside his opened jacket, his legs sprawled supinely out on the grass. I felt powerful and strong like I had never done before. There was something about my noble friend that brought a strength out of me that I little realised I had.

Panting myself, but making sure they were lighter than Percy's gasps, I lay on the grass beside him and slackened my tie and business collar. Side by side we panted and regarded the summer sky.

"You are a magnificent runner, Archie!" He said between gasps.

"Thank you, you are a fair rival, yourself!" I admired back.

"But your Business suit!" He said, "I fear I am a bad influence on you, my friend!"

I sat up suddenly worrying about grass stains on my grey jacket. I reached to slip the jacket off my shoulders and Percy quickly knelt up beside me and helped me disrobe. There was something strangely exciting about being undressed by someone who had possibly never even undressed himself, having a serving man disrobe him every night. But here he was slipping my jacket down my arms, making sure it didn't touch the lush grass.

"Is it all right, Archie?" he asked solicitously, while I inspected the grey material.

"It seems fine!" I said carefully folding it back on itself so that the lining was on the outside, before carelessly dropping it on the grass as a pillow and lying back to stare, still panting, at the summer sky.

Percy laughed gaily and took his own jacket off. I squinted at his torso and arms inside his crisp white shirt and judged that my friend was slightly less muscular than I. "What about yours?" I asked looking back up at the sky.

In this novel, the two young men's friendship develops into a deeply homoerotic one, while Victorian society frowns upon their developing feelings. In this case both young men are homosexual, but have not yet realised it. So their homoeroticism expresses in sports like wrestling and boxing, but their natures draw them on into territory forbidden in Victorian society.

This was a very interesting project for me, to write about, the blossoming of homosexual behaviour through, initially, more innocent homoeroticism. Find out more about Archie here

In my first ever novel, Mick, I wrote some largely autobiographical, homoerotic pieces

When I was 18, I went to college and shared a bedroom in the Hall of Residence with this guy who was a few months older than me. He was called Mick and he was quite experienced sexually. In the nine months that I had shared a room with him he had had four girlfriends and screwed them all.

I really envied him. He was a bit taller than I was and quite muscular. He had girls falling for him as soon as he looked at them!

A couple of times, after he had screwed a girl, he had described it to me. He knew I was a virgin and used to tease me about it. I think he described it because he knew it got me going. But he was a bit of an exhibitionist so I think he got off on telling me about what he did with his girlfriends.

Sometimes he would undress slowly in front of me while talking and I suspected he liked it when I peeked at him undressing. But I thought I was maybe imagining that. He was sexually liberated compared to me so I wasn't sure if he was letting me see him or if he didn't even think about it.

He was the sort of guy who walked around naked in the college changing rooms and took part in horseplay like towel flicking and being macho. I was rather shy and would quickly get my clothes on hoping nobody was looking at me.

In that novel the homoeroticism moves inevitably into a homosexual one. But is such a development inevitable? And is it always the case that only homosexuals and bisexuals feel homoerotic passions. Find out more about Mick here

In the novel Str8 Boyz? I pose the situation where a heterosexual young man is placed in a reality TV programme where the sexuality of the male contestants is secret. In an environment where sexuality is so to the fore, but where the possibilities of heterosexual couplings are not possible, what does a straight boy do?

Our hero in that novel engages in homoerotic behaviour and very soon, even homosexual behaviour. Does this mean he is homosexual, who just needed that aspect of his character to be drawn out of him? Or can a straight man feel homoerotic attractions and even engage in homosexual adventures in order to release his sexual frustrations?

Early in the story three contestants frolic manfully in the Jacuzzi:

"Come on you tarts!" Col said and swung his arm, swooshing a great swoosh of water at us both. Jason leapt from his side of the Jacuzzi and hurled himself powerfully at Col, drowning him in a swirl of water and bronzed flesh.

I copied Jason and drowned them both in a slosh of water and flesh. We all surfaced and leapt at each other, grabbing wet, slippery arms as best we could. We were all evenly matched physically and nobody got the upper hand. We frolicked and splashed and grabbed and pushed.

Soon our hero is having homoerotic feelings towards his pals:

My mates were already stripped off and in the Jacuzzi. I flung off my clothes and dressed only in the usual backless pouch I headed for the pool. I stood on the edge and Col and Jace looked up at my almost naked form. Rather drunk, I found myself turned on by them looking at my body. I was proud to show them the bulge only just hidden by the material. The way I reckoned it, if you had a manly profile, then you should be proud of it!

I didn't jump or climb straight in, but stood there and let them look at me. I hoped the cameras were transmitting my image. I reckoned it would do my popularity no harm to let the girls see my sexy body. And if some guys got off on it too, well that was ok. I needed all the votes I could get! Gay or straight, I didn't care who took a shine to me.

In the closeted Reality TV environment our hero finally has a sexual encounter, one night, in the dark bathroom:

I turned towards Col, his naked body pounded by the jets, the suds all washed away, his cock hard and eager for him to continue his wank. "Best wait, in the bathroom, mate." He said nodding towards my crotch. "Best not let the cameras see that!" He indicated my lump.

His eyes roamed my face and without a word, the contract was made. Just like with the maid, an animal lust overtook us both. We were alone and sexually turned on. What harm was there in me stepping under the jets with him? What harm was there in letting our wet bodies stroke each other? What harm could be done by letting his fingers stroke the wet straining pouch?

I swooned at the feel of his hands pulling the band of material down my hips, his fingers stroking my hard shaft like they had done before. But this time was different. That night with Jason and him, we had been three guys just exploring and helping each other out. Tonight there was a real lust between us. Oh god! He pulled our crotches together and my dong met his in fierce contact. Our mouths met and we kissed while water enveloped our two heads in union. Jesus! Kissing a man could be fantastic! In the novel Dreams we have two straight young men learning massage techniques on each other, in true homoerotic, intimate friendship:

I started at the local baths last week, after I had done a month's massage training. I learned different techniques for muscular relief, sensual massage and general toning massage. I practised on another young guy at the training school called Mark. He was straight too, so I was glad I was partnering him, because quite a few of the others at the school were gay and I wouldn't have liked to have been massaged by and give massages to any of them. As it was, even with Mark, we often got erections while the other one was practicing the massage techniques. The towels preserved our modesty, thankfully!

The instructor, a middle aged man, called Tom quietly explained to us that this wasn't unusual, especially during the sensual massage - that was the idea of that technique after all! He told us not to be too embarrassed about it and to take a cold shower afterwards. With some of the gay guys, he had to get quite strict and tell them off when they started horsing around.

I took my cold showers as Tom suggested and Mark and me would laugh it off in the bar in the evening, while we eyed up the women. I used to whack off afterwards in my room. Not thinking about Mark or anything like that, just relieving the pressure that had built up during the day.

Dreams is a novel where things are not quite as they seem and men misunderstand each other's sexuality. The subject of homoerotic, bisexual, homosexual and heterosexual feelings are explored intimately. Find out more about Dreams here

So, what do you think? Comments welcomed. Do you think homoerotic feelings can be experienced by "straight" heterosexuals? Or is homoeroticism only a form of homosexuality or bisexuality?

Carter & The Séance – An Erotic Murder Mystery

Carter & The Séance is my latest release on the Kindle

The novel is an erotic murder mystery and marks a new departure for me. It is written for both men and women. The erotic scenes are written with an emphasis on the handsome hero Garry Newburn. Women will admire Garry's smooth physique and the sex secenes are described from a female angle.

I hope that men too will enjoy the sex scenes and gay men will find plenty of interest in Garry's athletic body and deeply homoerotic relationship with the handsome chef.

The novel is also a traditional who-dunnit. Will you work out who the murderer is before the case is solved?

Archie - A Gay, Gothic Romance

"Archie" is my latest release for the Kindle.

This is a Gothic horror story concerning two young men who are discovering their sexuality in Victorian society.

Archie and Percy come from different strata of Victorian Society, but their friendship quickly blossoms into an intimate one.

Can their idealised, romantic friendship survive the class difference and the Victorian disapproval of close male friendships? But there are worse tests to come. The story takes them into the world of the Occult and into truly shocking horrors.

Writing this book was a very interesting project. Unlike some of my other gay novels, this one is not so focussed on descriptions of sexual intimacy, but concentrates on the two heroes and their reactions to their mutal attraction.

The style I developed for the novel is a slow, romantic one and it was fascinating to weave an Occult aspect to the narrative. The two main characters are naive and much of the book deals with this and how it leads them into an horrific situation.

I have been interested in Occult ideas for many years and for this novel "Archie" I took, very loosely, some occult theories and developed my own fictionalised occult practices. Frankly it may take a bit of courage to read the middle secion of the novel, but do remember it is only fiction!

Dreams - What is Real?

"Dreams" has been published for the Kindle.

This is a five volume novel. Volumes 1 and 2 are available for you to try, or you can go straight to getting the complete 5 volume novel.

This was an interesting project, where I wrote each volume from one person's point of view. As you read through the stories, you realise how much things are misinterpreted by the characters.

I think this is true in life. We usually only know things from our own personal experience and our interpretation of those experiences. We can never be certain what the actuality is, unless we cross-examine people for their experience of the same events.

In "Dreams" the particular area covered in the multi-personality accounts is an individual's sexuality. Is someone straight or gay? Or are there degrees in between? If a "straight" man fools around with another man, does this mean he is not entirely straight?

Then again we also have the complication where, socially, it is often felt necessary to be "straight" or hide one's gay nature. People even are confused themselves, sometimes, as to their own sexuality.

So in "Dreams" we have men having sex together, while they work out their own sexuality as well as the sexuality of the other man.

Another aspect that I explored in the novel is the nature of dreams and the almost psychic forces that may be operating to determine events.

As a writer, it was fascinating to be able to create entirely different scenarios in the middle of the novel, by creating sleeping dreams for the characters. I also created some "lucid" dreams where the character was aware that they were dreaming. Creatively, as a writer, this is a very interesting area.

Something I had fun with in the final volume was using a writing device whereby I wrote sex scenes between a young straight man and a young gay man without compromising the straightness of the straight gay. But I won't give away how I did that at this point!

Str8 Boyz?

"Str8 Boyz?" is the second of my novels published for the Kindle.

It was a very interesting project to work on. The premise being that young men are taken away from normal society and put into a Reality TV program. Some of them are straight and some are gay. They have to try to work out who is which!

The novel describes how they behave in this unique environment where so much emphasis is put upon their sexuality, while being denied heterosexual contact. Added to this is the factor thst they have to fool the other contestants as to their true sexuality.

Very quickly the boys behave out of character, or are they behaving in character trying to fool the others with a double bluff?

The novel takes the current Reality TV phenomena to a new level of intimacy.

Please take a look at "Str8 Boyz?" and let me know what you think of it.

Mick - My First Novel

"Mick - Fifty Shades of Gay" was the first novel I ever wrote. It is now available for the Kindle

I wrote this back in the old days of the Compuserve Gay forum and when I gave away the first few opening chapters, I got a lot of positive feedback, which encouraged me to write more.

Eventually it became an epic, 400+ page, interlinked novel where events were described from different people's point of view.

When I finally took the plunge to publish it for the Kindle, I coincidently realised there were exactly 50 different sub-stories within the novel. So the temptation to add the sub-title "Fifty Shades of Gay" was just too tempting a coincidence to resist!

This was my first attempt to write Gay Porn with a bit more depth than a lot of porn on the market, and to some extent, I think I succeeded.

The characters' emotional reactions to life and misunderstandings, desires and temptations is described, as well as lots of sex - of course!

Anyway, do take a look at it and let me know what you think. now available for the Kindle

Hello

Hi

Richard Peters here.

I am an author of erotic fiction - mostly gay fiction, with a bit of bisexual thrown into the mix!

My fiction is explicit and only for those over 18 and those not offended by intimate descriptions of M/M sex. But I also like to write about the inner workings of my characters' minds. In this way I try to make my novels interesting to the discerning reader.

So much gay fiction is a simple, anatomical description of sex, which while stimulating for a while, becomes rather boring in the end, in my opinion. I hope my novels, as well as providing sensual homoeroticism, (which, let's face it, readers of gay fiction do want) will also provide an emotionally fulfilling experience.

On my blog I will release details of any new works of fiction, from my keyboard, so stay tuned.

Currently I have over a dozen completed novels and I am in the process publishing them on the Kindle. My Amazon Author Profile is here: Author Profile

At present I have three of them published for the Kindle and will be rolling the rest out as soon as possible. I'd welcome any reviews from readers. So far, in the last month, they have sold regularly on Amazon.

I will also be releasing them on Smashwords - so please stay tuned for announcements, if you prefer to read on a different format from Kindle.

Please bookmark this Blog and stay tuned.
